Keybindings

The leader key, every stock binding, and how to remap them.

All leader bindings are configurable β€” override a stock key or add a new one in [keymap.bindings] with "chord" = "action-id" (see Configuration). The action-id column below is exactly what goes on the right-hand side.

Remapping

[keymap]
leader = "ctrl+b"

# Override a stock key or add a new one.
[keymap.bindings]
s = "split-vertical"   # now leader+s splits vertically
x = "close-pane"

Invalid chords/actions are ignored with a warning. The dispatch table feeds the leader-mode status-bar hint and the leader+? showcase from the same source, so they never drift.

Not remappable

  • Esc and the leader chord itself.
  • Per-mode keymaps for popups (menu / context-menu / popup navigation) β€” like tmux, only command bindings are remappable.
  • Mouse gestures (drag-select, splitter resize, context menu) β€” they are positional hit-testing, not key sequences.

Press leader+? at any time for the live showcase of your current bindings.
